日本でのランチについて書かれているブログを

うらやましげに見せていただいております。

どれもおいしそうで、いろんなものがあって、ランチタイムが楽しそうです。

ロンドンでは買いに出れば基本サンドイッチ、とマンネリ。

時々気に入って食べているのがこれ。

サバの燻製とゴロゴロでっかいポテトサラダとビートルートのサラダ。

サラダとは言え、根野菜たっぷりでお腹一杯になります。

と、あまり面白くないロンドン昼飯事情で失礼いたしました。

JAPAN - JUNKO奈良へ -

わざわざJunkoちゃんが遊びに来てくれました。

嬉しかったよぉ～。ありがとう

久しぶりに会っても、なぜか久しぶりな気がしない。不思議です。

難波でぶらぶら～っとお買物をしたり（なんば波パークスへ初めて行った！）、

そして奈良では法隆寺へ行ってきました。

ど真ん中に立っている人はたまたまそこにいた人ですが、気づかず。
まるでその人のために撮ってあげたような写真になってしまいました。
アナタ誰！？

法隆寺の前には井戸元というレストランでランチ。

地元のお野菜を使ったバイキング。どれもこれもとても美味しかったけど

どうやらちょっとくぼんだところにも何品かあったらしい！気づかなかった・・・。

でもいろんなお料理が食べられて大満足でした。

やっぱり美味しいねえ、ニッポン！（と、また食べる話ばっかりで。。。）

今日の私があるのもJunkoのお陰です。

Junko came to Nara to see me!

I wonder why we don't feel like we haven't seen each other

for a long time. We went shopping to Osaka and also visited

Horyuji temple in Nara. I am glad that my home town has

an old history. On the way to Horyuji, we had lunch at a restaurant

called Idomoto. They use locally grown vegetables and it's buffet style.

There were so many various kinds of dishes and we even missed

a section! We were so full but still had some dessert

as well (of course!).　Thanks to Junko, I am what I am.

JAPAN - 高山 TAKAYAMA -

家族で高山へも行ってきました。久々の温泉。

ホテルはアソシア。いつ泊まっても快適です。

３姉妹でレディースプラン。

やっぱりいいねぇ～楽しいねぇ～。

９時から面白いテレビがある！と張り切っていたものの

始まる前には寝ちゃってました。英国との時差９時間。

負けました。。。

着いてすぐの腹ごしらえは高山中華そば。

色が濃いです。美味しいです。

こちらへ帰ってきてからも、ラーメンの魅力に取り付かれております。

しばらく晩御飯は具沢山ラーメンになりそうです。

寒いしね。あったかいものがいいねぇ。

I went to Takayama with my family.

Our favourite hotel there is Associa Takayama Resort.

It is always lovely to stay there and I enjoyed hot springs.

Hot springs are something I really miss in England.

I was looking forward to a chat with my sisters and also my sister

told me that there was a good TV programme from 9 PM but

I fell asleep before 9. Alas, jet lag...

Takayama has some nice local dishes.

Before starting anything in the town, we had Takayama noodle.

I love soup noodles. Even after coming back to London where it's

freezing and snowing occasionally, only thing I can think of for dinner

is soup noodle and I'm having it every night!

JAPAN - 奈良手巻き -

大阪生まれ、奈良育ちでございます。

今も帰るうちは奈良。

奈良ならではのお菓子を姉が買ってきてくれました。

千壽庵吉宗の「奈良手巻き」

"黒糖わらび餅入りきな粉クリームの和ロールケーキ'"

きな粉クリームからきな粉の香りがふわぁ～っと広がり

正に和のケーキです。

その後ろに写っているクッキーも同じく千壽庵吉宗のもの。（と、記憶している。）

本店にしかないらしい。　珍しいフレーバーが一杯で

しかも本当にその味、香りが！全種類食べてみたかった。

お姉さん、たくさん美味しいものを用意しておいてくれてありがとう。

さすがですっ！

I had never paid much attention to a Japanese sweetshop

called Senjyuan Yoshimune in Nara before but my sister bought

a cake from there. It uses Japanese ingredients such as rice and

soybean flour. It is made of sponge and cream just like ordinary western

cakes but tastes Japanese! She also bought some interesting biscuits

which have loads of different unusual flavours.

A big thank-you to my big sister!

JAPAN - たこ焼き -

日本は美味しい！

毎日毎日美味しいものをた～っくさんいただきました。

写真を撮っていなかったのが残念です。

大阪で、小腹がすいたら・・・　たこ焼き！

「美味しんぼ」にも載っているこのお店。

いつも買物する所にその支店があるのでそこにしただけですが。

第７７巻、このお店が載っている美味しんぼが何冊も置いてありました。

私の帰省は常に食い倒れです。

I enjoyed various Japanese foods (obviously!) during my stay

in Japan. After shopping we had some takoyaki.

How nice to have delicious things so easily and reasonably!

This takoyaki restaurant (the one we went to was actually a branch)

happens to be in a comic book which is about food.

It's in the 77th volume and they had several copies of the book.

Every time I go home, I indulge myself too much!

JAPAN - 乗り継ぎ注意！-

日本へ里帰りしてきました。

安さに惹かれてエールフランスで。　

しかーし！いきなりパリでの乗り継ぎに失敗

（部品故障のため１時間飛行機から出してもらえなかった。）

１０人も同じ乗り継ぎの人がいたというのに、

みんなまとめて置いて行かれました。。。

パリからアムステルダムへ連れて行かれ、ＫＬＭで関空へ。

ＫＬＭは笑顔のスタッフ、空席が多かったので３席いただき

寝転んで帰って来れたし、こんな事態になった割りには

元々の予定より３時間遅れ程度で関空に着いたので結果オーライ

有り難いことでした。荷物もちゃんと一緒に到着しました！！

自分のスーツケースを見つけたときはかなり感動しました。

笑いっぱなしの１週間。

家族と純子のお陰です。幸せでした～

I spent a week at home in Japan.

Air France was very cheap so I decided to go home via Paris.

However, there was a problem with something called "nose bridge (?)"

and we couldn't get out of the plane for an hour after landing.

As there were 10 people who were taking the same flight to Osaka

with me, I thought the connection would wait for us.

We ran to the gate and got there 2 minutes before the departure time

but they said we could not get on it!

Eventually we were taken to Amsterdam and then took a KLM flight to Osaka.

KLM staff was cheerful with smile and I got 3 seats and could lie down.

We arrived in Osaka with the delay of only about 3 hours which was

a bit of surprise after such a fuss and my suitcase didn't go missing!

I was so grateful for that and that was quite impressive!

The whole week was such fun that I laughed a lot every day.

A very happy week!

The Bromeliad

クリスマスにいただいた本

- The Bromeliad -

Pratchettの本を読むのは２冊目ですが、これはスゴイ。

主人公はノームたち。

人間社会をこう見るか！！と感心させられるとともに

ノームたちは実は人間的で、ものすごくひょうきんで

気の利いた冗談も満載。物語の展開も「そう来たかーっ！

これは一本とられました」ともう脱帽。

超！巧みな言葉遊びにもただただ笑って「負けました。。。」

という感じです。

どうやら日本語にも訳されているらしいです。

かなりお勧めな一冊ですが、英語で読まないと面白さが

半減するような気もいたします。

Pratchett　万歳！

This book was one of my Christmas presents last year.

It is my second Pratchett book.

It is absolutely fantastic!

It's the stories of nomes.

They are actually so human and their sense of humour is

just hysterical It's full of witty jokes and Pratchett plays with

words so cleverly. The story develops unexpectedly and

you'd have to see how the nomes deal with the situations

with admiration and excitement.

Pratchett is genius.

Tower of London - ロンドン塔

ロンドン生活９年目にして、初めてロンドン塔へ行ってきました。

なぜかずっと行きたくなかった所で・・・。（過去世の辛い記憶か？？！！）

Yeoman Warder tour と呼ばれる無料のガイドツアーに参加し

ロンドン塔の歴史を聞きながら歩くことができます。

時代は1066年にさかのぼり、そこからのお話は

誰が殺されたか、どれだけ、どうやって殺されたかに尽きる内容ですが

ガイドを務める衛士は俳優張りの語り口調で、とってもユーモラス。

王室の宝器の中でも世界最大のダイヤモンド

（530 carats 106g)が

ここに展示されていますが、大きすぎてダイヤモンドに見えないくらいでした！

入場料は１７ポンド！

血塗られた歴史に興味のある方には高くないかもしれません。。。

Tower of London is one of the most popular tourist attractions

in London but it was somewhere I didn't really want to go.

Perhaps because of the memory from my past life???

Anyway, it has quite a lot to see and you can join a

Yeoman Warder tour which is free. The warder tells you about its

history from 1066 - mostly who were executed there,

how and how many

- with full of humour.

It also exhibits the collection of Crown Jewels and the world biggest

530 carats diamond

was too big to believe it's a diamond!

If you like the bloody history of the Tower,

the admission of 17 GBP may be worth spending ...

DVD Rental

TescoのDVDレンタル会員です。

見たいものを予めリストアップしておくと

DVDが郵便で送られてきます。

見終わったらまた郵便で返送。（それ用の封筒付き）

Tescoがそれを受け取ったらまた次のDVDが送られてくる

という仕組みです。便利です。

次は何が来るかな～といつも楽しみです。

インターネットで全て管理できます。

これでSAWを全部見てしまいました。。。なぜにホラー！？

そして、今はまっているのがチャールズ・ディケンズ原作の

BLEAK HOUSE

今日２枚目のDVDが届く予定です。

とっても楽しみ！

I'm a member of Tesco DVD Rental.

It's a very convenient system. You list up the DVDs you want

to rent on-line and they are delivered to you by post.

Once you watched them, you just send them back to them by post.

Then next ones will be delivered.

Customer support is also very good.

I've watched all the series of SAW....

Why did I do that!?

Now I'm into Dickens' "Bleak House".

I should get the second DVD today.

Can't wait!!
