日本は美味しい！

毎日毎日美味しいものをた～っくさんいただきました。

写真を撮っていなかったのが残念です。

大阪で、小腹がすいたら・・・　たこ焼き！

「美味しんぼ」にも載っているこのお店。

いつも買物する所にその支店があるのでそこにしただけですが。

第７７巻、このお店が載っている美味しんぼが何冊も置いてありました。

私の帰省は常に食い倒れです。

I enjoyed various Japanese foods (obviously!) during my stay

in Japan. After shopping we had some takoyaki.

How nice to have delicious things so easily and reasonably!

This takoyaki restaurant (the one we went to was actually a branch)

happens to be in a comic book which is about food.

It's in the 77th volume and they had several copies of the book.

Every time I go home, I indulge myself too much!

JAPAN - 乗り継ぎ注意！-

日本へ里帰りしてきました。

安さに惹かれてエールフランスで。　

しかーし！いきなりパリでの乗り継ぎに失敗

（部品故障のため１時間飛行機から出してもらえなかった。）

１０人も同じ乗り継ぎの人がいたというのに、

みんなまとめて置いて行かれました。。。

パリからアムステルダムへ連れて行かれ、ＫＬＭで関空へ。

ＫＬＭは笑顔のスタッフ、空席が多かったので３席いただき

寝転んで帰って来れたし、こんな事態になった割りには

元々の予定より３時間遅れ程度で関空に着いたので結果オーライ

有り難いことでした。荷物もちゃんと一緒に到着しました！！

自分のスーツケースを見つけたときはかなり感動しました。

笑いっぱなしの１週間。

家族と純子のお陰です。幸せでした～

I spent a week at home in Japan.

Air France was very cheap so I decided to go home via Paris.

However, there was a problem with something called "nose bridge (?)"

and we couldn't get out of the plane for an hour after landing.

As there were 10 people who were taking the same flight to Osaka

with me, I thought the connection would wait for us.

We ran to the gate and got there 2 minutes before the departure time

but they said we could not get on it!

Eventually we were taken to Amsterdam and then took a KLM flight to Osaka.

KLM staff was cheerful with smile and I got 3 seats and could lie down.

We arrived in Osaka with the delay of only about 3 hours which was

a bit of surprise after such a fuss and my suitcase didn't go missing!

I was so grateful for that and that was quite impressive!

The whole week was such fun that I laughed a lot every day.

The Bromeliad

クリスマスにいただいた本

- The Bromeliad -

Pratchettの本を読むのは２冊目ですが、これはスゴイ。

主人公はノームたち。

人間社会をこう見るか！！と感心させられるとともに

ノームたちは実は人間的で、ものすごくひょうきんで

気の利いた冗談も満載。物語の展開も「そう来たかーっ！

これは一本とられました」ともう脱帽。

超！巧みな言葉遊びにもただただ笑って「負けました。。。」

という感じです。

どうやら日本語にも訳されているらしいです。

かなりお勧めな一冊ですが、英語で読まないと面白さが

半減するような気もいたします。

Pratchett　万歳！

This book was one of my Christmas presents last year.

It is my second Pratchett book.

It is absolutely fantastic!

It's the stories of nomes.

They are actually so human and their sense of humour is

just hysterical It's full of witty jokes and Pratchett plays with

words so cleverly. The story develops unexpectedly and

you'd have to see how the nomes deal with the situations

with admiration and excitement.

Pratchett is genius.

Tower of London - ロンドン塔

ロンドン生活９年目にして、初めてロンドン塔へ行ってきました。

なぜかずっと行きたくなかった所で・・・。（過去世の辛い記憶か？？！！）

Yeoman Warder tour と呼ばれる無料のガイドツアーに参加し

ロンドン塔の歴史を聞きながら歩くことができます。

時代は1066年にさかのぼり、そこからのお話は

誰が殺されたか、どれだけ、どうやって殺されたかに尽きる内容ですが

ガイドを務める衛士は俳優張りの語り口調で、とってもユーモラス。

王室の宝器の中でも世界最大のダイヤモンド

（530 carats 106g)が

ここに展示されていますが、大きすぎてダイヤモンドに見えないくらいでした！

入場料は１７ポンド！

血塗られた歴史に興味のある方には高くないかもしれません。。。

Tower of London is one of the most popular tourist attractions

in London but it was somewhere I didn't really want to go.

Perhaps because of the memory from my past life???

Anyway, it has quite a lot to see and you can join a

Yeoman Warder tour which is free. The warder tells you about its

history from 1066 - mostly who were executed there,

how and how many

- with full of humour.

It also exhibits the collection of Crown Jewels and the world biggest

530 carats diamond

was too big to believe it's a diamond!

If you like the bloody history of the Tower,

the admission of 17 GBP may be worth spending ...

DVD Rental

TescoのDVDレンタル会員です。

見たいものを予めリストアップしておくと

DVDが郵便で送られてきます。

見終わったらまた郵便で返送。（それ用の封筒付き）

Tescoがそれを受け取ったらまた次のDVDが送られてくる

という仕組みです。便利です。

次は何が来るかな～といつも楽しみです。

インターネットで全て管理できます。

これでSAWを全部見てしまいました。。。なぜにホラー！？

そして、今はまっているのがチャールズ・ディケンズ原作の

BLEAK HOUSE

今日２枚目のDVDが届く予定です。

とっても楽しみ！

I'm a member of Tesco DVD Rental.

It's a very convenient system. You list up the DVDs you want

to rent on-line and they are delivered to you by post.

Once you watched them, you just send them back to them by post.

Then next ones will be delivered.

Customer support is also very good.

I've watched all the series of SAW....

Why did I do that!?

Now I'm into Dickens' "Bleak House".

I should get the second DVD today.

Can't wait!!

Snow Again!

今朝起きてみたら外は真っ白でした。

また、雪です。

こんなに寒く、雪の降る冬は初めてです。

今朝の通勤途中の景色はこんな様子です。

もうホッカイロも使い切ってしまいました・・・。

アバターを見てきました。

もちろん、これをかけて３D!

実際の３D画像よりも、映画が３Dであるという事実に

もっと興奮いたしました。　映画館はほぼ満席。

すごい人気です。そして噂どおりいい映画でした。

人間のエゴの醜さにちょっと辛くなったりもしましたが。

次はNINEを見るぞ！

I went to the cinema to watch Avatar.

It was more the fact that the film is 3D which made me excited

than the actual 3D picture. The cinema was almost full.

As people say, it was a very good film and I enjoy it very much.

It was a bit painful to see how ugly human's egos are though...

I'd like to watch "Nine" next!

買ってよかった・・・EARMUFFS

本当に寒いこの冬。耳当てを買いました。

後頭部から付けるタイプです。

今週は英国は雪、雪、雪。

帽子と耳当て両方で防寒。

背中にはホッカイロ。

そしてもちろん雪国仕様ブーツで出社。

雪で出社できない人続出でオフィスはガラガラです。

徒歩通勤の私は言い訳無用できっちり出社いたしました。。。

I am so happy that I have bought these earmuffs last year.

I wore a hat and them this morning to come to the office.

And of course my reliable snow boots!

The office is empty as lots of people cannot travel

because of the snow. As I walk to the office,

I have no excuse to be late or not to come...

Christmas 2009　-3-

クリスマスといえば ”散歩(!?)” です。

ずーっと家でテレビを見たり、ゲームをしたりして

食べて飲んでばかりもいられないし、お店は皆閉まってるし。

近所の公園へ行ったり、車で程よく散歩できる所へ出かけたりします。

今回はこんなところを歩きました。

近くの公園ではロビンも見られました。シアワセ！

I think lots of people go out for a walk during Christmas.

All the shops are closed and you'd get bored with watching TV

all day or playing games at home.

The photos are the place where we went for a walk.

It was cold but felt so good to be outside with wonderful

scenery and fresh air. In a park near my friends' house

we saw a robin which made me happy!

プリマスではもちろん海へ！

と言っても、私は専らカメラ班。

冬の海もいいもんです。(涙とハナミズ出ますけど。）

ビーチではたくさんのいろんな犬たちを見ることができます。

皆お散歩にビーチへ連れてくるのです。

時に、「これ投げて？」と棒切れを私の前に置いてみたりする犬も。

投げたい、投げたい！でも飼い主もいるしなぁ、と遠慮しました。

The sea in winter is also nice (but only nice to SEE it.)

The boys were canoeing but I was happily on the ground

taking photos. People come to the beache with their dogs.

A dog brought a stick to me to be thrown for him.

I really wanted to do "Fetch!" but as the dog owner was there,

I didn't do it... I want a dog!
